On October 28th I decided that I would love to go on a date with Danny (or two other guys...I told you it was kind of a slow process, ok? At least he was the first one I mentioned!)
On October 30th I actually ran into Danny on the way to class. He was coming home. I started really trying to look my best around this time. In the back of my mind I was always hoping to run into Danny on the way to class. I even started walking a different way to try to bump into him. (It turns out I was walking the completely wrong way to run into him, but this day I was lucky). This day he noticed that I looked good, and he said he liked my headband. It made me feel really good.
That night our ward had a Halloween Party. Whenever we think back about how our lives together began, we think of this party. It was kind of the beginning of our mutual interest, and it is pretty memorable for both of us.
"My roommates and I all dressed up in our Halloween costumes and went to our ward Halloween Party. I was a pirate. . . .The party had food and some games, but it was mostly a dance party. . . . The dance was down in an underground parking garage. All the cars were cleared out. It was awesome!"
I remember realizing that some of the other guys in my ward were a little boring (one of them didn't even dress up at all). I kept hoping to see Danny there, but he was late.
"I wanted to stay because I was hoping Danny would show up. And he did. :) and we stayed and went back to dancing. Sarah made up a line dance, so she and I started doing that and people joined us (Danny did too). Then he and some other guys danced in our group the rest of the time! :) I was happy. I like Danny. I want to be his friend."
One theme of our love story seems to be ups and downs. So, of course after the party I was hoping for an invitation to continue talking with Danny or hang out at his apartment, but he walked home with another girl and hung out with her. Halloween day was pretty disappointing too for me. I had to wait until the next day (Sunday, of course) for our next encounter...and this one is pretty good too...
